SUP Skills: Paddle technique including stroke and maneuvering, board anatomy and handling, entry and exit techniques, caring for your board.
WPA, PaddleFit & ACA informed curriculum
Instructing a beginner SUP lesson
Weather and water safety: Regulations, local knowledge, rescue techniques and lifesaving skills. USCG approved water safety clinic.
Anchor systems: Individual and group
Adapting and sequencing asana on the water, including a “Stoked Flow” set sequence: options for beginner and advanced students.
Building Your Business: Purchasing and preparing, start up capital, marketing and advertising, web development and software, reaching your audience.
Equipment provided for duration of training: SUP board, paddle, anchor, and PFD.
Journaling and goal setting workshop to give focus to your dreams.
Leda Olmsted has taught hundred of yogis how to take their practice onto the water. She has led SUP trainings, and workshops all around the country with Stoked Yogi and her personal business Fluid SUP. She is a passionate water woman and athlete for Boardworks SUP. Leda splits her time between surfing rivers in Colorado and the Great Lakes waves in Michigan. Her mission in life is to empower women through yoga and outdoor adventure.
This Stoked Yogi training will be a local training. It will not be an all inclusive training with lodging. Students will meet each day at the Boulder Reservoir from 8:30am-5pm each day. Students should pack plenty of extra clothes for rain or shine and dress in layers, as well as bring plenty of water, snacks and lunch.
